INTRODUCTION TO THE MAJOR
The Tour Guide major equips students with knowledge about organizing travel business – guiding, hotel – restaurant, event – conference, entertainment, designing, operating, and implementing tourism programs. Students are trained in English proficiency, capable of working independently, working in teams, and improving their learning as well as adapting to an international integration environment to meet the labor demand in the globally competitive tourism market.
STRENGTHS OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
- The Tour Guide training program focuses on practical skills (practice accounts for 70% of the training duration) according to the Vietnamese and International Tour Guide occupational skills standards.
- Theoretical knowledge is focused on in-depth cultural history, geography, tourist psychology, international guiding skills, and language proficiency to meet market demands.
- Students have more than 2 internship semesters at enterprises, experiencing practical tour guiding through real tours under the guidance of lecturers and international tour guides.
- Students can confidently take on the job of a real tour guide in their final year and get a job immediately upon graduation.
